American Revolution

The American Revolution was a political upheaval that took place between 1765 and 1783 during which colonists in the Thirteen American Colonies rejected the British monarchy and aristocracy, overthrew the authority of Great Britain, and founded the United States of America.

Starting in 1765, members of American colonial society rejected the authority of the British Parliament to tax them without colonial representatives in the government. During the following decade, protests by colonists—known as Patriots—continued to escalate, as in the Boston Tea Party in 1773 during which patriots destroyed a consignment of taxed tea from the Parliament-controlled and favored East India Company. The British responded by imposing punitive laws—the Coercive Acts—on Massachusetts in 1774, following which Patriots in the other colonies rallied behind Massachusetts. In late 1774 the Patriots set up their own alternative government to better coordinate their resistance efforts against Great Britain, while other colonists, known as Loyalists, preferred to remain aligned to the British Crown.

USA-229

USA-229, known before launch as NRO Launch 34 (NROL-34), is a pair of American signals intelligence satellites which were launched in 2011. They are operated by the United States National Reconnaissance Office.

Both satellites were deployed by a United Launch Alliance Atlas V 411 carrier rocket, which launched from Space Launch Complex 3E at the Vandenberg Air Force Base. The launch occurred at 04:24 UTC on 15 April 2011. The rocket placed the satellites into a low Earth orbit. By 04:29 UTC, official updates on the status of the spacecraft had been discontinued.

Whilst details of the satellites and their missions are officially classified, amateur observers have identified that the Atlas V deployed two satellites, one of which has officially been catalogued as debris. The two spacecraft have been identified as being a pair of third or fourth generation Naval Ocean Surveillance System satellites. Amateur observations have located the spacecraft in an orbit with a perigee of 1,025 kilometres (637 mi) and an apogee of 1,207 kilometres (750 mi), inclined at 64.4 degrees to the plane of the equator. Current generation NOSS satellites are always launched and operated in pairs, and are used to locate and track ships from the radio transmissions that they emit.

Life in a... Metro

Life in a... Metro is a 2007 Indian drama film directed by Anurag Basu, set in Mumbai, featuring an ensemble cast of Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Kangana Ranaut, Sharman Joshi, Konkona Sen Sharma and Irrfan Khan. The music is composed by Pritam with lyrics by Sayeed Quadri. The film was released on 11 May 2007. The film narrates the individual lives of nine people living in Mumbai, and deals with topics like extramarital affairs, sanctity of marriage, and love. The film was critically acclaimed for its story and screenplay. The film's general plot and a number of characters are based on two classic films, The Apartment and Brief Encounter.

Synopsis

Rahul (Sharman Joshi) is a young man with dreams, working as a call center executive in a BPO in Mumbai. He silently loves Neha (Kangana Ranaut), a smart young woman who has made it up the ranks in a very short time, due to her relationship with her boss, Ranjeet (Kay Kay Menon).

In his 30s, Ranjeet is married to Shikha (Shilpa Shetty) and has a six-year-old daughter. Shikha is well educated, and a trained dancer. Ranjeet and Shikha decided that she should stay back at home and take care of the house and their child. Their eight-year marriage has turned loveless and bitter.

Once Upon a Time... Space

Il était une fois… l'Espace (English: Once Upon a Time… Space) is a French/Japanese animated science fiction TV series from 1982, directed by Albert Barillé.

The series was animated in Japan by the animation studio Eiken, and is thus considered to be anime as it also aired on Japanese TV, albeit not until 1984, under the title Ginga Patrol PJ (銀河パトロールPJ, Galaxy Patrol PJ). In contrast to the show's success in the West, the series' Japanese broadcast was consigned to an early-morning time slot and attracted little attention.

Synopsis

Once Upon a Time... Space differs from the rest of the Once Upon a Time titles in the sense that the series revolve on a dramatic content rather than an educational premise. The series still has a handful of educational information (such as an episode discussing the rings of the planet Saturn).

The series succeeds Once Upon a Time... Man. It reprises almost all of the characters from the previous series and adapts them into a science-fiction context.

Metro 2034

Metro 2034 (Russian: Метро 2034) is a novel written by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky and is a sequel to his novel Metro 2033. Although Metro 2034 is the official continuation of the Metro 2033 storyline, the 2013 video game Metro: Last Light – the sequel to the video game adaptation of the original novel – has no similarities to the novel in its plot. Metro: Last Light has been adapted into the novel Metro 2035.

Plot

It is the year 2034. Less than a year has passed since the events of Metro 2033. The Dark Ones, once considered a deadly threat to the Metro, are gone for good, killed by Artyom and his allies. On the south side of the Metro, the inhabitants of Sevastopolskaya Station are fighting for survival against new threats that constantly assail them. The fate of the station depends on weapon supplies from further up the line, which are suddenly cut off along with all communications with the rest of the Metro system.

A group of three is sent to investigate, including old, unfulfilled chronicler Homer and antisocial mercenary Hunter – a character featured in Metro 2033 but now mentally and emotionally damaged after the events of that book.
